Terms of Service

PLATES.BH is a classifieds platform that lets sellers list Bahrain number plates and lets buyers find and contact them, typically over WhatsApp. We are not a party to any sale between a buyer and seller, we do not hold or transfer funds for a plate's sale price, and we do not verify that a listed plate is genuine, correctly described, owned by the person listing it, or free of any dispute or encumbrance.

Any transfer of plate ownership through Bahrain's General Directorate of Traffic (or successor authority) is entirely the responsibility of the buyer and seller. Completing a purchase on this Site does not, by itself, transfer legal ownership of a plate.

You must be able to form a legally binding contract under the laws of Bahrain to create an account. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide (including your name, WhatsApp number, and governorate) and for keeping your password confidential. You are responsible for all activity under your account, and should tell us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission.

By publishing a listing, you confirm that you have the right to sell the plate described, that the listing is accurate, and that the plate is not stolen, subject to a dispute, or otherwise unlawful to sell. We may remove a listing, or suspend or ban an account, if we reasonably believe a listing is fraudulent, inaccurate, or violates these Terms or Bahraini law — without prior notice where circumstances warrant it.

Publishing a listing currently requires a one-time listing fee (500 fils for plates priced under BHD 5,000, BHD 1 for plates priced at BHD 5,000 or above), shown to you before you publish. If you later raise a listing's price across that BHD 5,000 threshold, the difference is charged at that time. Listing fees are for the act of publishing the listing itself and are not refundable once the listing is live, including if the plate does not sell, is removed for violating these Terms, or is later delisted by you.

As of this version of these Terms, PLATES.BH records listing fees and optional paid features (such as featured placement or a dealer plan) but does not yet process them through a live payment gateway — no card or bank details are collected or charged today. This will change as payment processing is added, at which point this section will be updated to describe the payment provider, refund handling, and any applicable taxes, before real charges begin.

An offer submitted through the Site is a non-binding expression of interest, not a binding agreement to buy or sell. Any actual sale — price, payment method, handover, and transfer of ownership — is a matter between the buyer and seller, conducted directly (typically over WhatsApp), and PLATES.BH is not a party to it and is not responsible for either side following through.

You agree not to use contact details obtained through the Site (including WhatsApp numbers shown on listings) for unsolicited marketing, harassment, or any purpose unrelated to a genuine inquiry about a listed plate.

You agree not to: list a plate you do not have the right to sell; post false, misleading, or duplicate listings; scrape, systematically extract, or republish data from the Site; attempt to bypass listing fees or other charges; attempt to access another user's account or data; interfere with the Site's operation (including automated abuse of any form, spam, or denial-of-service-style behaviour); or use the Site for any unlawful purpose under Bahraini law.

We may suspend or terminate your account, and remove your listings, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, engaged in fraudulent or abusive conduct, or where required by law. You may stop using the Site and request deletion of your account at any time — see the Privacy Policy for how to do that.

The Site is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not warrant that listings are accurate, that any plate is transferable, or that the Site will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the fullest extent permitted by Bahraini law, PLATES.BH's total liability for any claim arising from your use of the Site is limited to the fees you paid to PLATES.BH (not the plate's sale price) in the three months before the claim arose, and we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses, or for the conduct of other users.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Bahrain, and any dispute arising from them is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Bahrain.

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make a material change, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where practical, give more prominent notice. Continuing to use the Site after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.
